2010 Letter

December 31st, 2010
Dear friends,  I am wondering what all has impacted you this year?   I must admit that two friends' suicides have made me think deeply on the brevity of life & the desperation some people feel. We memorized Psalm 21 for our Christmas gift to Jesus this year. Verse 7 says, "For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High, he will not be shaken." So I can truthfully say that I am sad, but not shaken.

Mark is now in his 5th year at the metal shop.  His shop has a workforce of 6 men, including his friend/boss.  It supplies a niche market that is not dependent on the automotive or housing industries & had a record year for sales.  Mark cut off the tip of his right index finger in September while at work and found himself the center of attention of 3 doctors who labored for 2 hours to make his shortened finger look as normal as possible.

Kinza, a senior, has enjoyed composing more piano pieces. For her AP Music Theory class last year, she composed a trio for the piano, cello, and violin. She entered it into a state contest and won first place for the senior division. In the photo at the topof the page, she is performing her composition with her friend, Kelsey, on the violin, and a professor from UW EauClaire on the cello. You can hear the whole piece on my youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/amyhagerup. Kinza is planning to attend Bradley Univ. in Peoria, Illinois & major in music business next Fall.

Colette, a junior, is as effervescent as ever. Read the story how we almost didn't get to adopt her under "Amy's blog". Colette loves teaching Sunday School and wants to go into early childhood eductation. Here she is with  her niece, Elyse Bartz.
I continue to enjoy my Shaklee Health & Wellness business, and helping others get healthier. I am enjoying writing more articles so check those out at http://amyhagerup.com & leave a comment.

We pray that your 2011 will be your healthiest year yet and that you will be happy to be alive to accomplish the purposes God created you for!  Blessings, Amy for Mark, Kinza, andColette Hagerup
